2 children drown in pond near Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, May 24: Two children died by drowning in a dobha (small pond) of Phuljhari village under Harina Panchayat of Kowali police station area.

The incident happened at 1 pm on Saturday. The names of the deceased children are Rasmita Sardar (3 years) and Ashish Sardar (1.5 years).

According to the information, Sanjit Sardar’s daughter Rasmita Sardar (3 years) and her younger brother Rajesh Sardar’s son Ashish Sardar (1.5 years), both siblings, while playing, went to dobha a little away from the house to see the ducks. At this time, the children’s mother was cooking food in the house.

After some time, while passing through the pond, a villager saw that both the children were swimming in the water.

He immediately informed the villagers about this.

On receiving the information, many villagers reached the spot. The children were identified as Rasmita and Ashish. The children’s parents also reached the spot and picked up the children from the water and brought them home. Seeing the critical condition of the children at home, they were immediately brought to Tara Seva Sadan Nursing Home located in Hata.

Here, the death of both the innocent children was confirmed in the medical examination.

Potka MLA Sanjeev Sardar also condoled the death of the children.
