Jharkhand CM nod for Preliminary Enquiry against BJP leader Misfika Hassan

Ranchi, Aug 17: In a significant development, Chief Minister Hemant Soren has granted authorization to initiate a Preliminary Enquiry (PE) against Misfika Hasan, a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), in connection with allegations of unlawful land and property acquisition.

Currently serving as the National Minister of BJP Minority Morcha, Misfika Hasan also holds the position of a state spokesperson within the party’s ranks.

The request for conducting a PE was put forth by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and pertains to the alleged accumulation of illegal assets during Misfika Hasan’s tenure as the head of Pakur’s Elami block. Notably, Misfika is listed as an accused in the Jamshedpur IR Case No. 28/18.

The ACB’s inquiry stemmed from a complaint lodged against Misfika, accompanied by a corroborating affidavit. The complainant alleged a total of eight registered deeds (kewalas) and various other properties registered in Misfika’s name, all acquired between May 2018.

The findings of the investigation aligned with the claims detailed in the complaint letter. This was further corroborated by the investigation report furnished by the then Inspector of Dumka. Based on these findings, a recommendation was made to initiate a Preliminary Investigation, which would facilitate an in-depth examination of the matter.
