Jamshedpur, August 17: The celebration of allround development through 77 years of independence pulsated in every heart as the faculty, staff and students of Loyola School Telco sang the national Anthem with gusto as soon as Chief Guest, CEO of Hotel Boulevard and a Loyola alumnus, unfurled the Indian Tricolour on Independence Day in the company of Principal Charanjeet Ohson and Administrator Fr Gerry.
Earlier, Ronald D’Costa was welcomed to the school premises by the musical notes and percussion beats of the school’s Drum and Bugle Corps (DBC).
The welcome speech was delivered by Wilson Minz while Nirja Tiwary impressed with her Independence Day address. The programme was anchored by S Tarika.
In his address to the Loyola School Telco fraternity, Chief Guest Ronald D’Costa observed, “Independence means to believe and be independent to choose your profession, your career. Be charitable to one another, extend a helping hand, share your knowledge and unite the forces of peace and love.”
A fascinating cultural programme was put up by the students including a dance based on lyrics glorifying New India. Students rendered patriotic songs that stirred the audience. Emerging poets of the school Srijaya Thakur, Dipika Singh and Shreya Sahu proved their emotional depth with their observation of life in varied situations.
Principal Charanjeet Ohson, in her message to the students, said, “This is the beginning where yo commence striving to be a responsible citizen of India, where each one gets an equal opportunity to learn, grow and thrive, irrespective of your background.”
The Administrator and Treasurer Father Gerry, Pre Primary School Moderator Colin Xavier and Father Gautam were present on the occasion. Pari offered the vote of thanks.
