Foundation stone of schemes worth Rs 27 Cr laid, projects worth Rs 32 Cr inaugurated
Ranchi, October 20: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren inaugurated the 11th Junior National women hockey championship and also laid the foundation stone of the international hockey stadium at Simdega on Wednesday.
“We are determined to provide excellent resources to the players especially Hockey in Simdega and the foundation stone for the construction of an international level hockey stadium is part of this effort,” said Soren while inaugurating Junior national women’s Hockey Competition 2021 and the foundation stone laying ceremony of the International Hockey Stadium and the distribution of assets in the premises of SS Girls High School, Simdega.
The Chief Minister said that the government is giving direct appointments to the players who have performed well at the national and international level.
“Continuous work is being done with the resolve to connect the youth of Jharkhand with employment. Today appointment letters were handed over to 79 men and women players,” said Soren.
The Chief Minister said that the sub-junior tournament was organized only a few months back. National level competition is being organized again.
“Players of Jharkhand will get an opportunity to learn a lot from talented players of the country.. Jharkhand will be known not only for minerals but also for sports. The government is determined that where there is a possibility in the game, the government will promote sports.
Foundation stone of 25 schemes costing more than Rs 27 crores and 35 schemes costing more than Rs 32 crores were inaugurated by the chief minister.
Around 990 beneficiaries were benefitted through a total of six schemes amounting to more than Rs 28 crores and for the self-reliance of women of self-help groups, financial assistance was given for goat, chicken, pig farming. Women of SHGs benefitted from credit linkage.
Inauguration and foundation stone laying and distribution of assets of development and welfare schemes worth Rs 101.590 crores.
Simdega MLA Bhushan Bara said that the state government is doing the work of giving respect to sports and sportspersons. The government has given a direct appointments to 39 players. Playgrounds are being constructed at Panchayat, Block and District level across the state.
Kolebira MLA Naman Vixal Kongadi said that sports hold an important place in our lives and the government is providing all possible facilities to the players.
The Chief Minister met the players of all the teams participating in the 11th National Women’s Junior Hockey Competition 2021 and congratulated them and announced the launch of the competition. 26 teams from across the country are participating in this competition.
