Jamshedpur: A delegation of Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP) met sub-divisional officer, Ghatshila Satyaveer Rajak and demanded to curb incidents of chain snatching, illegal liquor business, animal smuggling, gambling and lottery business in the city . BJP leaders and residents expressed their displeasure over the behaviour of Ghatshila police station. The police have been accused of harassing the traders.
The delegation said that the police have failed to curb the increasing number of criminal incidents in the city. Instead of curbing criminal incidents, the police are harassing the drivers and traders in the name of checking in the city. There is no provision of parking of vehicles in the city. Police are harassing vehicles parked on the side of the road in the name of investigation.
” The police administration has so far failed to curb the increasing number of criminal incidents. Local businessmen and the general public are afraid of increasing crime. In recent days, the behavior of the police has also increased resentment among the traders. Due to the festival season, these days the transporting vehicle from Jamshedpur and other places is coming to Ghatshila. Such vehicles are being caught by the police during the loading and unloading of goods and being taken to the police station.
