Jharkhand CM in action mode at review meeting of Chatra-Latehar

Ranchi, February 14: Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren was in an action mood while reviewing development works and law and order of Latehar and Chatra district at Latehar with focus on speeding up implementation of schemes.

The chief minister directed for termination of work order of Gayatri Buildcon Company for failing to complete the construction of a bridge even after seven years in Latehar while instructing to issue showcause to Shriram Company for slow progress of water supply scheme under Jal Jeevan Mission in Tandwa block of Chatra district.

He also gave time till  February 21 to the district animal husbandry officer of Chatra subject to review of the implementation of Mukhya Mantri Pashudhan Yojana and if the work is not satisfactory within the period he would be suspended.

The Chief Minister expressed concern over the low number of applications for the Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Program and laxity in its execution, told the officials to make youth aware to connect with this scheme.

The Chief Minister told the officers that  if the progress of the schemes is visible only on paper, then there is no point in spending a large part of the budget on your salary .

The Chief Minister inaugurated online the newly constructed block cum circle office  at Sadar, degree college, women’s degree college and multipurpose building in Latehar.,

“ The year 2023 is the year of “implementation of plans”. Our entire focus is to speed up the pace of the schemes. Progress of the schemes will be monitored regularly. Projects should be completed at the right time. Common people should get full benefits of all the schemes. Officers and employees should fulfil responsibilities with honesty, otherwise the government will be forced to take action,” said Soren.

The Chief Minister said that the government has a huge army of government employees. The government spends a major part of the budget on their salaries. Even after this, if the pace of the schemes is slow then there is no point in paying salary for warming seats.

The Chief Minister said that during the review meeting, figures are fudged by the officials to show achievements and wanted that in the review meeting along with the statistics, photographs of the schemes should also be attached to know the real situation.

The Chief Minister asked the Deputy Commissioners of both the districts to regularly monitor the schemes.

The Deputy Commissioner of Chatra district received instructions to call a meeting of the governing body within a week to complete the process of approval of schemes to be operated from DMFT funds.

Superintendents of Police of Latehar and Chatra have been instructed to prepare a list of 20-20 top priority criminal cases in their respective districts, complete their investigation soon and file charge sheets so that the conviction rate in criminal cases can be increased.
