Ranchi, Oct 7, 2024: Chief Minister Hemant Soren laid the foundation stone for a new Apollo multi-speciality hospital with over 300 beds in Ranchi’s Smart City complex on Monday.
Soren during the foundation stone laying event said, “The government is committed in meeting the basic needs of the people. This new hospital is a major step towards improving healthcare in the state.”
He added, “The government aims to make healthcare easily accessible for everyone in Jharkhand.”

The chief minister added that along with the hospital, he also handed over the keys of new homes to beneficiaries of the Islam Nagar Urban Housing Project under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), fulfilling their dream of home ownership.
The Chief Minister further added that the COVID-19 pandemic exposed the weaknesses of healthcare systems globally, especially in underdeveloped states like Jharkhand, which faced a lack of hospitals, doctors, and medical supplies.
Soren said, “However, our government managed the crisis effectively and has since taken healthcare a priority in the state and taking steps to provide better medical services.”
Soren added that the state is working with world-class institutions, such as Apollo, to improve healthcare infrastructure. The Azim Premji Foundation is also establishing top-tier institutions in the same area, and the government is fully supporting initiatives to open medical colleges and hospitals.
He said the new Apollo Hospital will be a key development in the state’s healthcare system, ensuring people have access to modern medical facilities without needing to travel to other states for treatment. This will help reduce the financial burden on poor families seeking quality healthcare.
