Jamshedpur, October 7: Odisha Governor and former Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Monday inaugurated the grand Durga Puja pandal constructed by the Agrico Puja Committee at the Agrico Club House. The 75-ft-high pandal, themed on “Mayur Vihar,” has become a major attraction for devotees, drawing large crowds from far and wide.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato and Chandragupta Singh. Together with other dignitaries, the guests offered prayers to Goddess Durga, seeking blessings for happiness, prosperity, and well-being.

The Agrico Puja Pandal, featuring intricate bamboo craftsmanship, stands as a 75-ft structure adorned with cloth, pastel colors, and lights. At its heart is a 14-ft statue of Maa Durga, captivating visitors. The pandal’s entrance showcases a stunning peacock structure, adding to its aesthetic charm. The overall construction cost of the pandal is estimated at Rs 12 lakh.

During the event, Governor Raghubar Das conveyed his best wishes for Sharadiya Navratri to the people of Jamshedpur and Jharkhand. He emphasized that Durga Puja is not just a religious festival but also a celebration of the city’s cultural heritage, bringing together spirituality and community. Jamshedpur, known for its industrial prominence, also boasts rich traditions and vibrant religious festivals, making it a hub of cultural unity.

The inauguration was led by Agrico Puja Committee President Y P Singh, General Secretary Bhupendra Singh, and Treasurer Sanjay Singh. Many local dignitaries and social workers, including former MLA Kunal Sharangi, Chandrashekhar Mishra, and Rambabu Tiwari, were also present at the event.
