“Death of Guruji, Ramdas Soren an irreparable loss”

Jamshedpur, Aug 29: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his wife Gandey MLA Kalpana Soren attended Shraddha Karma of former Education Minister Ramdas Soren at Ghorabandha Football Ground on Friday.

Hemant Soren said that the death of Ramdas Soren is a deep loss not only for the party but for the entire state.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren and MLA Kalpana Soren met late Ramdas Soren’s wife Surajmani Soren and his son Somesh Chandra Soren and other family members and consoled and encouraged them.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Kalpana Soren offered floral tributes at the portrait of Ramdas Soren and looked emotional. He said that the death of Dishom Guru and Ramdas Soren is an irreparable loss for the party and the entire state. His simplicity, struggle and social service thinking will always inspire people. He described it as a loss which is never possible to compensate.

The atmosphere was sombre during the condolence meeting. The late minister’s elder son Somesh Soren said that the Chief Minister has assured the family that he and the entire organization stand firmly with them in this hour of grief.

The Chief Minister met the family and consoled them personally and said that Ramdas Soren’s dream will not remain unfulfilled.

“Ramdas Soren died suddenly just a few days after Guruji’s death. The death of these two personalities is an irreparable loss,” said Soren.

The Chief Minister and his wife were present at the venue for about an hour. During this time he talked to the family members and urged the bereaved family to be patient.

The Governor arrived to pay tribute to the late minister Ramdas Soren, met the family

Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar reached Ghorabadha on Friday to pay emotional tribute to the late minister Ramdas Soren. He reached the tribute meeting organized at Ghorabadha football ground at around quarter to one in the afternoon by road via Chandil. The Governor said that Ramdas Soren had done remarkable work for the society and the state, his absence will always be felt.

During the tribute program, the late minister’s wife Surajmani Soren, sons Robin and Somesh Soren along with daughter were also present. After meeting the family members, the Governor urged them to maintain patience in this hour of grief.

After paying tribute to Minister Ramdas Soren, the Governor’s convoy left for the capital Ranchi.

A grand pandal was prepared in Ghorabandha for the organization of Shraddha Bhoj, in which special arrangements were made for VIP guests. Along with the local people, many dignitaries were also present in the program.

It is worth noting that Ramdas Soren died on August 15 while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Delhi. Ramdas Soren was also the president of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) East Singhbhum District Committee.

Soren suffered serious head injuries after falling in the toilet of his residence at Ghorabandha here on August 2 and was admitted to a private hospital in Delhi. He breathed his last on August 15. Soren won the Ghatsila assembly seat for the third time in 2024 by defeating Babulal Soren of the Bharatiya Janata Party and son of former Chief Minister Champai Soren.

Assembly Speaker Ravindra Nath Mahato, Minister Deepak Birua, Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji, JMM Central General Secretary Vinod Pandey, former Chief Minister Arjun Munda’s wife Meera Munda, MLA Baharagora MLA Sameer Mohanty, Jugsalai MLA Mangal Kalindi and many others have also reached the Shraddha ceremony.
