Ranchi, March 22: Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren felicitated panchayat samity and ward samiti members for better work in the field of Jal Jeevan Mission for water conservation and cleanliness.
At a program held in chief minister’s chamber at Jharkhand vidhan sabha Hemant Soren felicitated panchayat head Munni Devi, panchayat Samiti member Parvati Devi and ward committee members Pooja Devi and Parvati Devi.
Incidentally, Munni Devi is head of Pithoria Panchayat of Kanke block of Ranchi district while Parvati Devi, is member of Markachcho panchayat samiti in Koderma district, for her special contribution in the field of Jal Jeevan Mission, water conservation and cleanliness. Pooja Devi, ward member of Arkocha Panchayat located in Markachcho block andParvati Devi of Lakshmipur panchayat of Domchanch block of Koderma district were felicitated.
The Chief Minister congratulated them for doing better work. The Chief Minister took information from all of them about the works and activities being done by them and appreciated them. Drinking Water and Sanitation Minister Mithilesh Kumar Thakur was also present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister said that life cannot be imagined without water. In such a situation, water conservation is the urgent need of today. The Chief Minister suggested the panchayat samity officials to run a campaign for water conservation and planting more and more trees and connect others with it as collective effort is the need of the hour in protecting water.
It may be known that President Draupadi Murmu had honoured Munni Devi in a program organized at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on March 4 this year.
Munni Devi was the only woman head of Jharkhand in this program, who was honored with the Swachh Sujal Shakti Samman-2023.
She received this honor for the successful operation and maintenance of the Multi Rural Water Supply Scheme. At the same time, Parvati Devi was honored by the Union Jal Shakti Minister for Jal Shakti Abhiyan while Mrs. Pooja Devi was honored for doing better work in the field of ODF Plus (Sanitation).
Secretary of drinking water and sanitation department Manish Ranjan and other senior executives were present at the spot.
