Chaibasa, April 23: Following Joba Manjhi’s nomination, CM Champai Soren addressed a fervent gathering in Chaibasa, expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support. He commended the unity demonstrated despite the scorching sun, confidently asserting that victory in the upcoming elections was assured, as evidenced by the robust turnout.
Reflecting on past achievements, Soren highlighted the government’s efforts for Jharkhand’s development, juxtaposing it against what he perceived as BJP’s neglect of tribal and Dalit welfare. He criticized BJP’s purported lack of substantive issues, accusing them of resorting to empty promises and ‘jumlabazi’ since 2014.
Amidst skepticism over BJP’s electoral guarantees, Soren lamented their failure to uphold tribal rights and address local concerns. He emphasized the significance of issues like forest rights, village autonomy, and welfare schemes, which he claimed were championed by his administration.
Soren underscored the regional identity of Kolhan, citing its vast forest cover and the importance of preserving tribal culture and languages. He decried BJP’s relaxation of forest laws and alleged indifference towards tribal languages and cultural heritage.
In contrast, Soren touted his government’s achievements, including the enactment of laws for reservation and the promotion of tribal languages. He criticized BJP’s silence on pressing issues such as inflation and unemployment, accusing them of neglecting the interests of tribal communities.
Asserting the resilience of the alliance, Soren dismissed BJP’s prospects in Kolhan, vowing to maintain the region’s steadfast support for the alliance. He urged unity in ensuring Joba Manjhi’s victory, confident in the alliance’s ability to withstand BJP’s attempts to sow discord.
