Police officials to face action if crime increases: DGP
Ranchi, December 13: Chief minister Hemant Soren has cautioned district officials of Lohardaga and Gumla that laxity in implementation of ‘dream projects’ would not be tolerated at any cost.
Hemant Soren while reviewing the performance of the two district at Lohardaga said, “Sarvajan Pension Yojana, Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana, Chief Minister Employment Generation Scheme, Chief Minister Livestock Development Scheme, KCC, Drought Relief Scheme and MNREGA are the dream projects of the government as it aims to strengthen the rural economy and make the villagers self-reliant. In such a situation, no laxity and negligence will be tolerated in the implementation of these schemes.”
“There is a need to work with full speed and strength in the direction of connecting more and more beneficiaries with all these schemes,” said Soren.

Chief Minister inquired from the officials of both the districts about the status of the applications received under all these schemes and their execution.
The Chief Minister said that the situation in both the districts is not satisfactory in the matter of implementation of the schemes of the government. The speed of connecting the beneficiaries with the schemes is very slow, while these schemes are included in the special priorities of the government. In such a situation, whatever pending applications have been received regarding these schemes, verify them as soon as possible, so that the beneficiaries can get their rights and initiate campaign in mission mode for its execution.
The Chief Minister said that the schemes and works of the government would be fully monitored.
“Till now the schemes were reviewed at the headquarters level. Our government is working to see the ground reality of the schemes at the district level. If needed, the plans will be reviewed in detail at the block and panchayat level as well,” said Soren.
The Chief Minister asked the district officials to connect villagers with government welfare schemes so that they do not migrate for employment and became victim of human trafficking.
The Chief Minister said that many complaints are being received from these two districts regarding illegal mining. In this case, action should be taken by registering an FIR against the illegal miners. On this occasion, the Chief Minister inquired about the action taken by the police against Maoists and crime control. He said that the investigation and execution of the cases should be done fast. If crime increases somewhere, action will also be taken against the officers of the police station concerned.
The Chief Minister said that most of the schemes of the government have a direct relation with the banks. Funds for the schemes are made available to the beneficiaries through banks only. In such a situation, make the process of getting money from the banks easy and convenient for the beneficiaries. If any bank does not show interest in it, then complain about it, so that further action can be taken by the government.
Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh expressed strong displeasure over the working style of the officials of both the districts due to the lack of satisfactory progress in the schemes related to the dream project of the government. The achievements are negligible in contrast to the target set. He asked the officers to ensure the execution of all pending applications of focused schemes within 15 days, otherwise be ready for action.
Director General of Police Neeraj Sinha gave strict instructions to the police officers regarding control of extremism and crime in Lohardaga and Gumla districts. He said that incidents like rape and murder are increasing in many police station areas. There is delay in investigation of criminal cases. Criminal incidents are happening in police stations at a faster rate than the execution of criminal cases. Laxity is also being done in the matter of warrants and attachment seizure. He said that this shows the failure of the police. He told the police officers to take concrete steps to control crime, otherwise be ready for action. Action will be taken against the policemen in the police station area where criminal incidents increase.
