Jharkhand: CBI registers case against FCI contractor in Giridih

Ranchi, September 4: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against accused a handling contractor (private person) of Food Corporation of India (FCI) godown in Giridih after conducting searches.

The accused who is owner/investor of PEG (Private Entrepreneurship Guarantee) Suriya Godown-I, Giridih and unknown public servants and unknown private persons, on the basis of complaint received from General Manager (Region), Food Corporation of India, Ranchi and notifications issued by Jharkhand government and Centre.

It was alleged that  accused during the month of June, 2023, accused, handling contractor of FCI and owner of  Godown-I, Giridih, in criminal conspiracy with other persons misappropriated/embezzled 3000 bags of wheat and 2800 bags of rice having total value Rs. 96,39,674/- at PEG Suriya Godown-I.

CBI sleuths conducted searches today at  the residential premises  of accused at Dist- Giridih (Jharkhand) which led to recovery of incriminating  documents  related to FCI, property details, bank account details,  agreements, etc

The CBI is continuing investigation into the case.
