Jharkhand Braces for Intensifying Cold Spell, Rainfall Expected in the Coming Days

Ranchi: As chilling winds sweep across Jharkhand, including the capital, residents grapple with escalating cold conditions that make stepping out of homes a daunting task, particularly during the early morning and evening hours. Despite some respite when the sun is out, persistent cold winds continue to pose challenges for the residents, prompting them to take extra precautions against the biting cold.
The recent surge in cold temperatures is attributed to the cessation of the western disturbance that had temporarily halted the cold winds in the region. Now, with the conclusion of this disturbance, the state is experiencing a drop in temperature, particularly due to the north-western winds from the north.
The Meteorological Department has issued a cautionary advisory, indicating that the minimum temperature in the state is expected to remain unchanged for the next 3 to 4 days. Moreover, there is a forecast of light to moderate rainfall in several parts of the state, including the capital Ranchi, on January 17 and 18.
Looking ahead, the department anticipates a gradual increase in temperatures by 2-3 degrees Celsius after January 15 (Monday). While issuing the weather forecast, Abhishek Anand, a scientist at the Meteorological Department Center in Ranchi, emphasized the need for residents to take special care in adapting to the prevailing weather conditions. With the conclusion of the western disturbance, the region is experiencing an upswing in shivering cold, warranting caution from the public.
