Three day limb implant camp inaugurated

Jamshedpur, Jan 6:  Surabhi, the women’s wing of Marwari Yuva Manch (MYM) Steel city Branch has organized a three day free artificial limbs implant camp at Sakchi Shri Agrasen Bhawan that was inaugurated on Friday by chief guests Jharkhand Health and Disaster Management Minister Banna Gupta and Chairperson of Horticulture Society of Jamshedpur, Ruchi Narendran. The camp will be organized till Sunday, January 8. Surabhi unit President, Usha Chowdhary, while chairing the inaugural proceedings, observed, “This artificial limb implant camp is our humble bid to contribute to the dream of a physical disability-free India come true.”

More than 300 people had been registered in this camp till the first day and the organizers expected the numbers to enhance over the next two days, The camp is being organized under the aegis of Sarlal Group Chairman Ramakrishna Chowdhary and his family in memory of Rani Devi Chowdhary.

Many dignitaries of the community including social workers Sudha Gupta and Alok Chaudhary, MYM Provincial Vice President Ajay Chetani, Provincial General Secretary Arun Gupta, Program Coordinator Manisha Sanghi, Pooja Agarwal and Secretary Nidhi Agarwal were present on the occasion.

Surabhi unit President Usha Chowdhary informed that limb technicians from Siliguri would examine the applicants’ limb requirements and, in case of technical inability to provide the required limbs to certain applicants, such people would be provided either wheelchairs or walkers by the Surabhi branch courtesy Sarlal Group. On the first day, Friday, 11 wheel chairs and 5 walkers were provided to the needy by the Surabhi unit of MYM Steel City branch.

Jharkhand’s Health and disaster Management Minister Banna Gupta, in his address, observed, “One of the greatest services to mankind is to provide aid to the needy. Marwari Yuva Manch has always been in the forefront to reach out to a suffering mankind and the Steel City branch’s Surabhi wing is well known for its public services and social aid. A camp for providing artificial limbs free of cost to people in need of them underlines the maxim, ‘Service to man is service to God.’  Surabhi has been providing succor to the needy in various ways and providing them artificial limbs is another great act. I congratulate all concerned for such an endeavor.”

Banna Gupta, at a point of time, in his address stated, “Jharkhand is blessed with a strong system that can overcome all odds and people also as strong. With a combination of determination and strength at both ends, the Jharkhand government will complete its successful tenure on a winning note.”

The inauguration ceremony was conducted by Pooja Agarwal. She thanked Sarlal Group and Ramkrishna Chowdhary family for supporting Surabhi branch in this venture. The vote of thanks was offered by MYM Steel City branch’s Secretary, Nidhi Agarwal.

The entire team of Surabhi Branch contributed to the success of the programme. It may be mentioned that the Surabhi branch was established in 2007. This artificial limbs implant camp is the group’s second such venture undertaken in 15 years.

Marwaris are a philanthropic community: Banna Gupta

Jamshedpur, Jan 6: State Health Minister Banna Gupta Friday said serving humanity was in the blood of Marwari community. Speaking during a programme organized by Steel City Surabhi branch of Marwari Yuva Manch at Agrasen Bhawan, Sakchi, he said Marwaris were always ahead when it came to serving the poor and needy. He assured to help Surabhi branch and Sarlal Group on behalf of the state health department in every possible manner.

Speaking on the issue of the holy pilgrimage of Jains, Sammed Shikhar, he said the governance and the people of the state were very strong.

Gupta further said that he was a social activist. He said the Marwaris were the followers of Bhamashah and had imbibed the ideal of serving humanity from the legendary personality.

Marwaris serving welfare philosophy of Tatas: Ruchi Narendran

Jamshedpur, Jan 6: Ruchi Narendran, chairperson of Horticulture Society of Jamshedpur, Friday praised the Marwari community for its socially beneficial initiatives.

In her address as the chief guest during a programme organized by Marwari Yuva Manch at Agrasen Bhawan, Sakchi, Narendran said the blood donation camp and artificial limb implant camp would give a new lease of life to many. She assured the organization of every possible help. She said Jamshedpur was a nice city and the people here were also very good at heart. She said the Marwari community was doing a great job. She appealed to women to come forward and give their best to society.
