Jamshedpur: The Implementation Committee of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly on Friday held a detailed review meeting with district-level officials to assess the status of government schemes. The meeting was chaired by MLA Ram Surya Munda, who issued clear directives to ensure accuracy, transparency and accountability in official responses and scheme execution.
During the meeting, the committee undertook a department-wise review of unanswered questions raised in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly. The chairperson instructed all departmental officers to carefully study the pending questions and submit accurate, factual and updated replies to the committee in writing within the stipulated time frame.
The committee sought detailed information and progress reports on schemes and activities related to several key departments, including Health, Road Construction, Water Resources, Electricity, Panchayati Raj, Tourism, Soil Conservation, Special Division, Education, Mines and Geology, Home and Prisons, along with other allied departments. Officers presented updates on the current status of various schemes, and shortcomings, if any, were discussed in detail.
Emphasising the purpose of the review, the committee chairperson stated that effective and timely implementation of state government welfare and development schemes is essential to ensure that benefits reach the last person in society. He underlined the importance of maintaining transparency, promptness and accountability at every stage of implementation.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Development Commissioner Nagendra Paswan, District Supply Officer, District Land Acquisition Officer, Assistant Director Social Security, District Social Welfare Officer, District Planning Officer, District Education Officer, District Superintendent of Education, engineers from various technical departments and other concerned officials.
The committee reiterated that such reviews are crucial to strengthen legislative oversight and improve governance by ensuring that public issues raised in the Assembly are addressed in a systematic and responsible manner.
