Jamshedpur: In view of the proposed visit of the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, to East Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan districts on December 29, the district administrations of both regions on Friday conducted a comprehensive joint inspection of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) campus, the designated programme venue, and the proposed travel routes. The inspection was aimed at ensuring foolproof security, smooth traffic movement, and flawless administrative and protocol arrangements for the high-profile visit.
The inspection was jointly carried out by Deputy Commissioner, East Singhbhum, Karn Satyarthi, Deputy Commissioner, Seraikela-Kharsawan, Nitish Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police, East Singhbhum, Piyush Pandey, Superintendent of Police, Seraikela-Kharsawan, Mukesh Lunayat, and Superintendent of Police (City), East Singhbhum, Kumar Shivashish. Officers from various line departments, including administration, police, traffic, health, power, public works and municipal bodies, were also present during the inspection.
During the visit to the NIT campus and along the designated routes, the senior officers conducted a detailed review of all critical arrangements related to the President’s proposed programme. Special emphasis was laid on security deployment, protocol compliance, barricading, access control, and crowd management at the venue. The officers closely examined entry and exit points, movement corridors, and security cordons to ensure there were no gaps in arrangements.

Traffic management and parking arrangements formed a key part of the inspection. The officers discussed route plans, traffic diversions, alternative routes, and parking zones to ensure minimal inconvenience to the general public while maintaining the security of the VVIP movement. Instructions were issued to traffic and police officials to prepare detailed traffic plans and ensure proper signage and public information in advance.
The inspection also covered emergency preparedness, with a focus on medical facilities, ambulance placement, fire safety measures, and disaster response mechanisms. The officers directed concerned departments to keep emergency response teams on standby and ensure seamless coordination among health, fire and disaster management units. Availability of drinking water, sanitation facilities, uninterrupted power supply, and proper illumination at the venue and along the routes were also reviewed.
Communication systems and control room arrangements were discussed in detail to ensure real-time coordination among all departments on the day of the programme. The senior officers stressed the importance of strong inter-district coordination between East Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan, particularly in terms of security, intelligence sharing and movement management.
Clear and time-bound instructions were issued to all concerned officers to complete their assigned tasks as per prescribed standards and timelines. The district administrations were directed to conduct regular follow-up reviews and mock drills, if required, to ensure complete preparedness for the President’s visit.
