Jharkhand: 25 minor victims rescued and rehabilitated 

Ranchi, March 27: Efforts of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has led to  the victims of human trafficking are being freed and rehabilitated in their homes.

In this series, 25 minor children who are victims of human trafficking are being rehabilitated back to Jharkhand by the Integrated Rehabilitation cum Resource Center, New Delhi, run by the Department of Women and Child Development.

The age of all these children is between 12 to 17 years. Most of these girls have been rescued by the Integrated Rehabilitation cum Resource Center with the help of Delhi Police and local NGO from various places in Delhi and Delhi-related states.

Nodal Officer Nachiketa of Integrated Rehabilitation cum Resource Center, New Delhi informed that on the basis of information related to children given by them during the capture of two human traffickers Poonam Marandi and Ishwar Turi of Sahebganj district, all these children have been rescued from Delhi and the states around Delhi after the tireless efforts of Rahul Singh and Nirmala Khalkho working in the Integrated Rehabilitation cum Resource Center. These children are coming to Ranchi on Thursday under the leadership of CDPO Khunti Altaf Khan and CDPO Sahebganj Poonam Kumari.

It is to be noted that Integrated Rehabilitation cum Resource Center is an integral part of Jharkhand Bhawan, New Delhi, which is run by the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Jharkhand. All this action was taken on the instructions of Resident Commissioner of Jharkhand Bhawan, Arwa Rajkamal. Let us tell you that the Women and Child Development Department is very sensitive in the matter of human trafficking. As a result of that, hundreds of children who are victims of trafficking in Jharkhand have been rehabilitated in Jharkhand so far and they have also been given the benefit of many schemes of the Jharkhand Government.

Secretary of Women and Child Development Department Manoj Kumar and Director Kiran Kumari Pasi have ordered the District Social Welfare Officer and District Child Protection Officer of all the districts. As soon as such a case comes to notice, a team should be formed immediately and sent to New Delhi. Taking further action, the children should be rehabilitated safely in their homes and given the benefit of various schemes run by the Jharkhand Government. Along with this, these children should also be continuously monitored.

Rahul Singh and Nirmala Khalkho of Integrated Rehabilitation cum Resource Center informed that they have a toll free number 10582, through which we get information about children who are victims of trafficking in Jharkhand. Counselling of these rescued girls will be done and their home addresses will be found out and home verification of the children will be done through the CDPO of the concerned district. Then these children will be rehabilitated by the District Social Welfare Officer of Sahebganj, Godda, Khunti district.
