Rahul of Jamshedpur Public School obtains 335 marks
Jamshedpur, April 30: Rahul Kumar Tiwary, a student of Jamshedpur Public School, Baridih, who scored 335 out of 360 with AIR 22 was declared the state topper of JEE Mains.
The JEE Mains results was announced on Monday evening as aspiring JEE aspirants kept waiting for their results since morning. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) that conducts the JEE Mains did not declare a timing which made students glued to the website.
About 7000 engineering aspirants from the state qualified to appear in JEE Advanced. The JEE Main 2018 offline exam was held on April 8 whereas the online exam was conducted on April 15 and April 16. Results of Paper I for B.Tech was announced today.

The cut off marks were lesser this year. Out of a score of 360, the cut off marks for general was 74; 45 for OBC; 29 for SC and 24 for ST. What came as a surprise was the cut off for people with disability (PWD) was at -35 marks.
“I am really very excited I didn’t expect 22. I am elated. My main focus is to crack JEE Advanced and if that makes me stay within a rank of 50. I want pursue computer science engineering at IIT Mumbai,” said Rahul, a resident of Dimna Road, Mango.
Students who have scored the required cut off will now appear for JEE Advanced scheduled on May 20.
