JBSS demands inclusion of Bengali community in Minority Commission

Jamshedpur, Sept 26: A delegation of the Jharkhand Bangali Samanvay Samiti (JBSS) met Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Rai at his Bistupur residence and complained of the neglect of the Bengali-speaking community in the newly formed Minority Commission in Jharkhand. The JBSS delegation mentioned that previously, the Bengali-speaking community was recognized on linguistic minority grounds.

The delegation submitted a memorandum to MLA Saryu Roy and urged his support to resolve the issue. MLA Roy assured the JBSS delegates  that he would discuss the matter with the Chief Secretary and make every possible effort to ensure the inclusion of the Bengali-speaking community in the Minority Commission.

The delegation included members of the Jharkhand Bengali Development Committee, including Achintam Gupta, Bhagwat Mukherjee, Pranab Barat, Prem Ranjan Ghosh, Sanjay Chakraborty, Subhash Singh Ray, Devashish Chakrabortyi, Bisha Kumbhkar, Raju Lohara, and Vishwajeet Chakraborty.
