Jamshedpur, May 15: Jharkhand statehood activist Ajit Kumar Sao, a resident of Dhalbhumgarh in Jamshedpur district headquarters, attempted self-immolation as part of a pre-announced programme.
The police personnel present with the magistrate at the district headquarters have arrested Ajit Kumar.
Incidentally, for the last 10 years, Jharkhand statehood activists Ajit Kumar Sao has been agitating continuously for the corruption in Kokpada block. As part of this agitation, Ajit Kumar reached the district headquarters with a can of petrol in his hand and was arrested by police.
Ajit Kumar said that there has been a scam of 90 lakhs in a scheme of one crore in Kokapara block, which if properly investigated, many officials will go behind bars. On the other hand, Magistrate Sunil Kumar, present in the district headquarters, said that the person who had come to commit suicide has been taken into custody, the allegations leveled by him will be investigated.
