Jamshedpur, March 13: After singing his way into the hearts of millions with his last two singles, city-based merchant navy officer Yashraj Singh has come up with a new song titled ‘Humrahi’. The spirit of the nation with a golden touch of sports has come alive in his latest song. The song features National badminton player Arhaan Parikh. The lyrics and music have been composed by the singer himself.
The young singer Yashraj said that he has dedicated the song for sports promotion. “I have been passionate about sports since my childhood. I think we need to promote sports and even youths must take it as a career. Hope my song inspires them to take up sports. Arhaan has been a great player and I got inspired by him,” he said.
Yashraj, who plays the guitar further said, “Like most songwriters, the lyrics stem from a certain experience, but I don’t actually have a process when I write songs. I just pick out some chords and when they sound nice, I just play them on a loop, adding the words as they come.”
He went on to inform that within a few minutes of its release the song started getting several hits on YouTube. The song has hit on several other social media platforms.
“Music has provided a wonderful soundtrack to my life in general. Different genres of music appeal to me, Indian and Western, classical, folk, musical theatre and popular. I have never limited myself to one style or singer or language. Music speaks a universal language to all of us,” said the singer.
During my professional life as a merchant navy officer, and my life at present, music has always told me that life constantly redeems itself, even during the most difficult and strenuous of times.
Yashraj has not stopped yet, he said that he has already started working on an English. “ I want to come with an English melody. The work has started, I want to reach out to a greater audience. Hope this song too will reach the hearts of music lovers,” he signed off.
