Jamshedpur’s Shahid Anwar to cover, report and commentate at Khelo India University Games

Jamshedpur, April 21: The COVID waves had seen to disruption in every sphere of activity but after two long years, life is returning to almost normal. Sporting activities are being resurrected. The biggest sporting event in India, after the pandemic, the much awaited ‘Khelo India University’ Games in Bengaluru will hear the magical voice of All India Radio Jamshedpur’s senior announcer and international sports commentator Shahid Anwar on the AIR national network. Besides commentary, Shahid has been assigned to cover and report on the Khelo India Games. According to a letter issued by Sports Cell, Directorate General of All India Radio, Delhi,  the coverage team of AIR for the Khelo India Games from April 23 April to  May 3 includes Shahid Anwar. In a telephonic conversation with Shahid Anwar, he said, “This opportunity to do the commentary in this second edition of Khelo India, is a big opportunity to join the radio broadcasting team for the big event.” It may be mentioned that Shahid Anwar had been in the commentary team for the

It may be mentioned that Shahid Anwar had been in the AIR commentary team for the Commonwealth games in Delhi in 2010, 16^th Asian Games in Guangzhou (China) in 2010, Commonwealth Games – 2014 in Glasgow,  Scotland besides many other national and international games for All India Radio. He has also commentated in cricket tourneys and other sporting events. In terms of international level sports, Shahid has featured as a commentator in more than 20 events.
