Jamshedpur, Oct 6: Shahid Anwar, the internationally renowned radio sports commentator from Jamshedpur, will commentate on the men’s and women’s Kabaddi finals of the 19th Asian Games being held in Hangzhou, China. The matches will be played in the Indoor Stadium of Jiayoshan Guwali Sports Center in Hangzhou.
Both, the Indian women’s and men’s teams have displayed remarkable performances and secured their spots in the finals, eyeing for the gold.
The Kabaddi women’s final match will commence at 6:55 am on Saturday, October 7 while the men will match their wiles and brawns at the same stadium from 12:55 pm on the same day. The broadcasts of these two Kabaddi finals can be heard on FM Rainbow national network.
It may be mentioned that the Indian women will vie for the Asian Kabaddi gold against their Chinese Taipei counterparts who had earlier met in the pool round that resulted in a historic 34-34 tie. The India men’s Kabaddi team will take on Iran which had won gold in the 2018 Asian Games.
Ace international sports radio commentator from the Jamshedpur Station of All India Radio (Prasar Bharati), Shahid Anwar who had earlier commentated during Cricket World Cup, Asia Cup, and Kabaddi World Cup, while speaking over phone stated, “There is tremendous excitement over the two Kabaddi finals in the 19th Asian Games. Both, the Indian men’s and women’s Kabaddi teams have been performing excellently. Yet the Chinese Taipei girls and the Iranian team have exhibited tremendous skills on their way to the final frontier. Grit and determination added to meticulous Kabaddi skills will have a say in the final results. At this juncture, the scale is tilted in the Indian teams’ favor and both, the women’s and men’s teams are being tipped to claim the 19th Asian Games’ gold medals.”
