Gua, Oct 6: A grader machine worth several crore rupees, was completely charred during its operation near the main gate of SAIL’s Kiriburu Iron Ore mine around 7 am on Friday, October 6.
Sources indicate that the grader machine was being operated by employee Suraj Lal for repairing and leveling the damaged and potholed roads within the mine premises, caused by continuous rains over the past few days. As the machine was working on leveling the road near the mine’s entrance gate, it suddenly erupted in flames, which rapidly spread. Fortunately, SAIL employee Suraj Lal managed to escape by jumping from the vehicle. The CISF personnel stationed at the gate, however, used extinguishers to quell the fire. The incident was attributed to the lack of maintenance of the grader machine.
