Jamshedpur girl wins gold medal in CISCE National Pre-Yoga Olympiad

Naisha Sarkar of Sacred Heart Convent School to represent CISCE at NCERT National Yoga Olympiad

Jamshedpur, May 26: Naisha Sarkar, a student of Sacred Heart Convent School, Jamshedpur, brought laurels to her school and city by winning gold medal at the CISCE National Pre-Yoga Championship 2025. The event was held from May 22 to 25 at the indoor stadium of St. Joseph’s Academy, Rajpur Road, Dehradun. Representing the Bihar-Jharkhand region, Naisha clinched the top spot in the Under-17 Girls category, showcasing exceptional yoga skills.

The national-level competition saw participation from students across the country, providing a platform to display their talent and discipline in yoga. With this achievement, Naisha has been selected to represent CISCE at the upcoming NCERT National Yoga Olympiad to be held in June 2025. Her success marks a proud moment for both her school and the city of Jamshedpur.

With this victory, Naisha has earned the opportunity to represent the CISCE Board at the NCERT National Yoga Olympiad, scheduled to be held in Kanyakumari in June 2025.

A total of five participants from the Bihar-Jharkhand region competed in the event, including Devnishtha, Shruti, and Nandini. Among them, Divya Majhi of Metas Adventist School also performed notably, securing seventh place in the top 10.

CISCE Bihar-Jharkhand yoga coach Rafia Naz praised the participants and said, “Everything is possible with tireless effort. We should never give up, because only those who persist reach their destination.”

The Principal of Bishop School, Namkum, and CISCE regional sports head, Principal Edwin, extended his congratulations to all participants. “All the children are champions in my eyes,” he said. “Their achievements have brought glory to our region and filled the youth with new energy and enthusiasm.”

Earlier, Naisha clinched the top spot and a Gold Medal in the Rhythmic Yoga championship for under-17 girls’ event at the CISCE 67th National School Games held in Agartala from November 23 to 27.

Prior to this national triumph, Naisha Sarkar showcased her prowess by clinching the first position in both the Athletic Yoga Girls (U-17) and Rhythmic Yoga Girls (U-17) categories at the CISCE Zonal Yoga Championship, which took place at Narbheram Hansraj English School (NHES) on August 4-5, 2023.
