Mumbai/Jamshedpur, April 1: TV actress Pratyusha Banerjee, known for her role of adult Anandi in the serial “Balika Vadhu”, allegedly committed suicide here on Friday, police said.
Pratyusha hanged herself from a fan at her Kandivali residence but was detected and taken to the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital where she succumbed.
Confirming the news, Mumbai police spokesperson Dhananjay Kulkarni said that the hospital has sent a report on the Jamshedpur-born actress’s death.
According to the reports , the actress hung herself to death. Reports say the actress was depressed with her personal life and her boyfriend, Rahul Raj Singh. The two were in a serious relationship and planning to marry soon.

It is very sad and disheartening, says TV actor Kushal Tandon. Police are investigating the probable cause that may have spurred Pratyusha to resort to the extreme step.
Hailing from Jamshedpur, the 24-year-old Pratyusha catapulted to fame with her role in “Balika Vadhu” between 2010-2013.
She was later seen in the reality dance show “Jhalak Dikhla Ja-5”, “Bigg Boss-7” and hosted some episodes of “Savdhan India”, and recently appeared in “Sasural Simar Ka”.
When leading entertainment portal BollywoodLife.com enquired Pratyusha�s friend and top TV actor Sidharth Shukla, he said, �I also just heard the news and I am shocked. This is indeed very sad and depressing.�
Pratyusha also participated in controversial reality show Bigg Boss 7. She was last seen on TV in Sasural Simar Ka.
Earlier in January, the actress had alleged that four policemen had entered her Mumbai residence and molested her.
