Jamshedpur, Oct 12: Badminton Association of India has nominated Jharkhand Badminton Association (JBA) secretary K Prabhakar Rao as team leader of the Para badminton team in the upcoming Asian Para Games to be held in China from October 18 to 28.
Jamshedpur-based Rao,chairman of India Para Badminton, will head the team which comprises 28 players, along with 40 officials.
Rao, a veteran sports administrator, is also the joint secretary of BAI. expressed confidence in the team’s abilities and stated that they were expecting to win 14 medals in China.
Head coach Gourav Khanna and asst coach Murli Krishna will be accompanying the team, with additional support staff.
Rao was nominated manager-cum-coach of Para Badminton during Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The national outfit secured 2 gold 1 silver 4 bronze medals at the Games.
