Jamshedpur, Oct 11: The All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), led by Ranchi University President Abhishek Shukla, presented a demand for the reopening of the Chancellor Portal in a meeting with Sudesh Kumar Sahu, the Dean of Student Welfare Faculty at Ranchi University.
Their request aimed at addressing the vacant seats in the Undergraduate (UG) session 2023-2027.
Shukla emphasized that the sudden closure of the Chancellor portal without prior notification was an unjust decision, particularly when numerous seats remain unoccupied in various departments of the university’s affiliated colleges. He urged the university administration to reconsider the decision and take necessary action in the best interest of the students.
Sahu revealed that around 50,000 forms had been submitted through the Chancellor Portal, resulting in 30,000 admissions so far. He assured that after consultation with the Vice Chancellor, the university administration would make an appropriate decision to address the concerns of the students.
In the event that their demand is not met, the AJSU warned of potential protests in the interest of the students. The delegation included Deepak Dubey, Rahul Kumar, Vishal Kumar Yadav, and others.
