Jamshedpur, Nov 21: Hindu organizations, angered by the district administration’s issuing FIRs against 47 persons including BJP leader Abhay Singh, organized a protest demonstration at the Sakchi roundabaout on Sunday. The demonstration, organized by Vishwa Hindu Parishad, was supported by activists of all Hindu organizations along with executives and members of Hindu Jagran Manch. The protesters claimed that the accusations against 47 persons including BJP leader were false and hence demanded withdrawal of the FIRs with immediate effect. Mnach president balbir Singh stated tghat the incident under reference was during Durga Puja on October 13 where as the Magistrate had lodged the complaint on November 2 at sakchi police station. He asked, “Who insitgated the district administration to file a case after such a long time since the incident? It is clear that this is a premedfitated move and if the district administration does not withdraw the FIRs, the Hindu Jagran Manch will launch an all out agitation.”
Jamshedpur VHP Mahanagar secretary Dipak Verma dubbed the state government anti Hindu and all members of the community would create a wall of saolidarity against administrati ve actions based on falsehood. Sunday’s agitation was a sequel to the agitation of Saturday when effigies of the Jharkhand government and the East Signhbhum district administration were burnt by the protestors. Dipak Verma observed, “During Durga Puja, the district administration created a situation of panic in the city. The action taken against distribution of bhog was unwarranted. The episode left a deep scar in the minds of every right thinking citizen and the administrative action caused a severe jolt to Hindutwa. The distgrict administration verbally agreed to settle the issue and all concerned were happy. But after just 20 days, the Jharkhand government and the East Singhbhum administration raised false allegations and filed an equally false case against 44 Hindus,’ and added, “This action is an oipen attempt to tarnish the glory of Hindutva heritage. We condemn this move and demand an immediate withdrawal of the FIRs.”
The agitationists said that ever since the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and Congress coalition government was formed in Jharkhand, anti-Hindu activities were increasingly visible in the state.
