Jamshedpur’s DBMS College wins ‘Women in Power’ Award for e-waste management initiative

Jamshedpur, March 17: DBMS College of Education, Jamshedpur has been honored with “Women In Power” Award for exemplary E-Waste Management initiative.

The college has collaborated with Hulladek Recycling Pvt Ltd for the past four years, serving as a pivotal collection point for electronic waste while actively promoting awareness through regular programs.

The recognition was bestowed upon DBMS College during the “Hulladek Honors 2024” event held in Kolkata on March 15. Remarkably, DBMS College stood out as the sole representative from Jamshedpur in this category, underscoring its pioneering efforts in fostering sustainable practices within the community.

The award was received by the College Secretary, Sripriya Dharmarajan, and Registrar, Anjali Ganesan, who were present at the ceremony in Kolkata to accept the accolade on behalf of the institution. Gratitude was extended to the college’s Chairpersons, Mrs. and Mr. B. Chandrashekhar, for their visionary leadership in spearheading initiatives that prioritize environmental stewardship.

Dr. Joohi Samarpita, the Principal of DBMS College, emphasized that the institution is not only setting a benchmark for other educational establishments but also playing a crucial role in advancing eco-friendly practices on a broader scale.

Assistant Professor Moushumi Dutta, who serves as the in-charge of the Eco Club at DBMS College of Education, has been instrumental in driving the institution’s environmental initiatives forward, further cementing its commitment to sustainability.
