Jamshedpur, Dec 9: Arijit Ghosh, a chess player from East Singhbhum, secured second place in the 15th KIIT International Chess Festival 2024 (Below 1700 Rating Category ‘C’) held from December 6 to 9 at the BBA Library, KIIT Campus, Bhubaneswar. Competing against 401 players, Arijit scored an impressive 8 out of 9 points, earning a cash prize of ₹75,000.
Narendra Kumar Tiwary, Secretary of the East Singhbhum District Chess Association (ESDCA), international arbiter Jayant Kumar Bhuyan and Chandan Kumar Prasad congratulated Arijit for his achievement, recognizing his consistent success in chess tournaments. Arijit’s victory further cements his reputation as a rising star in the chess community.
