Jamshedpur, Dec 9: Advocates in Jamshedpur took a stand on Monday against the ongoing atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh. Demonstrating at the district headquarters, they handed over a memorandum addressed to the Prime Minister of India, urging the government to ensure the safety and protection of Hindus living in Bangladesh.
The protestors strongly criticized the Bangladesh government’s inaction in addressing the violence against Hindus and called for the government to act as a responsible neighbor. District Bar Association Vice President Bolai Panda expressed his anger, stating that in times of crisis, India and its people have always extended help to Bangladesh. He pointed out the current suffering of Hindus in Bangladesh, noting that the interim government there is turning a blind eye to the situation.
Panda further warned the Bangladesh government about the growing threats from fundamentalists in the country, emphasizing that they should not forget the potential consequences if tensions with India escalate. Referring to the Ganges dam, he warned, “The day the dam built on the Ganges opens, Bangladesh will cease to exist.”
The advocates have demanded that the Indian government immediately intervene in the matter and initiate discussions with the interim government of Bangladesh to secure the safety of its Hindu citizens.
