Jamshedpur’s Anand Mahto brings home bronze from National Masters Championship

Jamshedpur, Feb 20:  Jadugoda Uranium Mazdoor Sangh (JUMS) General Secretary Anand Mahato brought home the bronze medal by winning the third spot in the 400 meter run event during the five day National Masters Championship held in Salt Lake Stadium at Kolkata. This win enabled Mahto to clinch a spot to compete in the Asian National Masters  Athletics Championship. The gold medal in the 400 meter event went to Maharashtra while the silver was claimed by Kerala. If Anand  overcomes the Asian National Masters’ challenge, he will stand a chance to participate in the proposed Games to be held in Japan, Malaysia or Singapore. JMUS General Secretary Anand Mahto’s success in the National Masters sports meet was greeted with joy not only by the UCIL management, officers and employees but the general citizens.
