City reports single Covid casualty after gap of 6 days

Jamshedpur, July 3: Jamshedpur reported first Covid-19 death after six days as one person succumbed to the virus. Earlier on June 26, one fatality was recorded as the death toll climbed to 1051.

On the other Coronavirus cases continue to decline in Jamshedpur owing to a greater number of recoveries than fresh cases.

8 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the East Singhbhum district, while one death was reported on Saturday,  July 3,. The new positives in Jamshedpur took the Coronavirus tally to 51590.

32 people recovered of the virus on Saturday taking the total recovery to 50463 while total active cases in Jamshedpur are 76.

Of the 76 patients still undergoing treatment for the coronavirus in the district, most are in home isolation, while some are being treated at care centres and hospitals. 

Jamshedpur has seen a sharp decline in their total cases in the past four weeks.

As many as 32 people recovered from the virus on Saturday taking the overall recoveries to 50463 which accounts for a recovery rate of 97.83%, which is the highest so far.

East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 410219 test per million in the district. The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 97.83% while the mortality rate is 2.04 %.

With just 8 new Covid-19 cases, Jamshedpur’s positivity rate on Saturday remained below 1%, as the city stayed on the recovery path after a brutal wave of infections between April and May. The positivity rate stood at 0.12% on Saturday.

More than 6500 were tested on the day. Data from the state government’s daily health bulletin showed that the Covid-19 test positivity is 0.12%. The state, too, witnessed a massive fall in infections and fatalities.

The positivity rate of Covid-19 cases in Jamshedpur is around 0.12 per cent after East Singhbhum conducted over 6500 tests in the last 24 hours. 

The Steel City tested 6857 samples, of which, 8 turned out positive while 32 people recovered from the Covid-19. The continuous high numbers of tests have pushed the positivity rate further down to 0.12 per cent, the government data showed.

So far in Jamshedpur 1104399 samples have been collected out of which 1092004 have been tested and 1040414 have turned out to be negative.
