Jamshedpur, Nov 4: The festival of faith and devotion, Chhath, is near at hand but the Baroda Chhath Ghat along the River Kharkai had been littered with debris and the piles grew ever since the Durga Puja immersion took place. Devotees immersed the Mother’s idols and other puja necessities including plastic in and around the river’s banks at Baroda Ghat.

Zila Parishad member from Bagbera, Dr Kavita Parmar, joined hands with the young members of Shri-Shri Sarvjanik Durga Puja Committee and other local social workers and ensured thorough cleaning of the Baroda Chhath Ghat to make it convenient for devotees and other visitors at the river bank.

An awareness campaign was also initiated to discourage further pollution of the river. “The commitment to maintain the river’s cleanliness will continue,” said Dr Parmar.

Others who lent their vital support to the Ghat cleaning endeavor were Anshul Kumar, Rohan Singh, Ritesh Gupta, Ravi, Aman, Ashish, Sameer, Divyanshu, Kishan, Abhishek, Ayush, Sandeep Singh, and Raja Choudhary.
