Jamshedpur, May 6: A 34 year-old youth, identified as Shankar, was run over by a speeding vehicle near Chandil in Seraikela-Kharsawan on Friday, police said.
According to police, Shankar, a resident of Asanbani, had gone to Chandil market for some shopping. On his way back around 8 pm, he was crossing the National Highway 33 when an unknown vehicle knocked him down. He was critically injured in the incident. He was taken to MGM Hospital where he died during treatment.
Police sent the body to MGM Medical College for autopsy and registered a case against the unknown driver.
