Jamshedpur, May 6: One Sarfaraz Ali was arrested for allegedly snatching mobile phone from a woman in Munshi Mohalla, Mango, on Friday, police said.
Cops said the accused was running away after snatching the mobile phone of one Santoshi Pal who was walking in an alley while talking over phone. As Santoshi raised an alarm, local residents ran after Sarfaraz and caught him. After thrashing the accused, the residents handed him over to police.
Police said Santoshi was going to her Gurudwara Road residence when the incident occurred. They said Sarfaraz was a resident of Road No 1, Azadnagar, and he was a habitual thief.
An FIR has been registered against Sarfaraz in this connection.
