Jamshedpur: A 27 year-old youth, identified as Rohit Singh, reportedly drowned in Dimna Lake on Friday, police said.
Sources said the youth’s body was taken out of the lake in the evening. The victim, a resident of Azad Basti, Telco, had gone to take bath in the lake with his friends during the Hindu Nav Varsh Yatra yesterday. Suddenly, he slipped into deep waters and drowned. His friends tried to save him, but of no avail.
Police sent Rohit’s body to MGM Hospital for postmortem examination. They said they were probing the incident to find out if there was any foul play.
