Jamshedpur, November 20. A young man who was cleaning at Kulupatanga Ghat under RIT police station of Adityapur died due to drowning.
The deceased has been identified as Kundan Shukla, resident of Road No. 11 Janata Flat. Kundan along with some of his friends had gone to build a ghat at Chhath Ghat in Kulupatanga. After building the ghat, he started bathing in the river with his friends. In this sequence he went into deep water.
Before his friends understood anything, he started drowning. After this, the Chhath Puja Committee people present at the spot rescued the young man with the help of some local youth but by then it was too late.
RIT police station in-charge Sagar Lal Mahtha along with the people of the puja committee took the young man to TMH where after examination the doctors declared him dead.
Kundan’s mother was celebrating Chhath. Kundan had gone to build the Chhath Ghat. Father Ravindra Pandey is a priest by profession.
