Jamshedpur, November 20. A sudden fire broke out on Sunday morning in a furniture shop and a garage located in Sido-Kanhu Basti near HP Petrol Pump under Burmamines police station.
The incident is said to have occurred around 2 to 3 in the morning. In this fire incident, all the goods present in both the shops were burnt to ashes.
According to shopkeeper Sujit Kumar, he has suffered a loss of seven to eight lakhs. Seeing the flames rising from the shop, people informed the police and fire department. After this, two fire engines of Tata Steel and Jharkhand Fire Service immediately reached the spot and started extinguishing the fire.
The fire could be controlled after about two hours of hard work. The cause of the fire could not be clarified. On receiving information about fire in shops, PCR team and Tiger Mobile personnel also reached the spot. Before the fire brigade arrived, people tried to extinguish the fire themselves but failed. People were seen trying to pour water by breaking the shop made of tin.
