Jamshedpur youth beaten up for harassing woman in Sonari

Jamshedpur, Feb 16: A youth, identified as Santosh, resident of Khuntadih, Sonari, was beaten up by a mob of local residents after he allegedly harassed a woman in Marine Drive area here on Thursday. After being roughed up by the people, the accused was released with a warning, sources said.

Sources said Santosh was allegedly harassing a local woman near Marine Drive for the last several days. Just as he was approaching the woman, her husband reached there and caught the accused. The husband beat up the accused and threatened to take him to the police station. His neighbours also roughed up the accused and warned him against harassing the woman. The accused sought forgiveness from the woman after which he was released, sources said. Sources said the accused used to stalk the victim and also sent his phone number to her through security guards. Whenever the woman went out, she was followed by him, sources said.
