Jamshedpur, Nov 17: The NSS unit of Jamshedpur Workers’ College launched a woolen clothing donation drive ahead of the winter season. Principal Satyapriya Mahalik inaugurated the initiative, emphasizing that “the greatest joy lies in the happiness of giving,” adding that one person’s old clothes can become new for someone in need.
NSS volunteers set up donation boxes at the college entrance and categorized collected items into sections for men, women, children, blankets, and gift packs. More than 100 woolen items were donated on the first day.
The programme was coordinated by NSS Program Officer Dr. Surabhi Sinha, with support from Dr. Alok Kumar Choubey, Kunal Mahato, Dheeraj Kumar, Manav Ghosh and Anjali Kumari. Significant contributions were also made by Dr. S.P. Mahalik, Prof. Subhash Chandra Das and Dr. Shweta Kumari. The donation drive will continue for a week, after which the collected items will be distributed to underprivileged families.
