Jamshedpur, Jan 19: Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy Thursday said the work to provide Tata Steel UISL power to the residents of Moharda and adjoining areas would soon begin. He said a power sub-station would be set up in Chhayanagar, Nirmalnagar, for this purpose. The residents of Cable Town and Cable Basti would get power supply from Tata Steel UISL, he said.
Roy said the residents of Burmamines and Vinoba Ashram would get Tata Steel UISL electricity connection in March this year. “The work to provide company power in Moharda and Murakati area would soon start. Tata Steel has sought NOC from road construction department and the local Circle Officer concerned for verification of the land proposed to be used for power station,” said Roy.
Roy today attended a meeting with the GM of Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (JBVNL), Shravan Kumar, electricity department at Bistupur to discuss the progress of power sub-station construction for supply of Tata Steel UISL power to various localities in the city. He was informed by Tata Steel UISL officials that the work of construction of power sub-station in Chhayanagar-Chandinagar, Nirmalnagar was in progress and necessary materials had been purchased. A request has been made to the district administration for assistance in this regard, the officials told Roy.
Roy further said that work was on to provide Tata Steel UISL power to all high-mast lamps across the city.
The meeting was also attended by the representatives of Tata Stee UISL, Tata Power, Jamshedpur Notified Area committee and other district administration officials.
