Jamshedpur Women’s University Student Priya Kumari Tops Indian Culture Knowledge Exam

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Women’s University (JWU) organized an award ceremony on Thursday to honour students who excelled in the Bharatiya Sanskriti Gyan Pariksha (Indian Culture Knowledge Examination).

State and District Toppers Recognized

The university’s Intermediate (Class 12) students delivered a stellar performance in the examination. Priya Kumari secured the first rank at the State level, while Marjina Parveen clinched the first position at the District level, bringing significant laurels to the institution.

All participants received certificates of participation. In recognition of the university’s active involvement, a commemorative memento was presented by Dr. Deepa Sharan to the Dean of Student Welfare (DSW), Dr. Kishwar Ara.

Significance of Cultural Education

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Deepa Sharan provided detailed insights into the nature of the Indian Culture Knowledge Examination. She emphasized the critical distinction between “Shiksha” (formal education) and “Vidya” (true knowledge/wisdom), highlighting the necessity of cultural roots in modern learning.

Several senior faculty members participated in honouring the students, including Proctor Dr. Sudhir Kumar Sahu, Dr. Manisha Titus (English), Dr. Pushpa Kumari (Hindi), Dr. Nupur Anvita Minj, Dr. Amrita Kumari (Philosophy), Dr. Sonali (Political Science), Dr. Madhuri Priyadarshini (History), Dr. Kamini Kumari (Commerce), and Dr. Rizwana Parveen (Urdu).

The event was moderated by Ravi Shankar Newar from the Department of Yoga, while Shashwati Maity delivered the vote of thanks. Students from the Yoga department and faculty members from various wings attended the ceremony to support the achievers.
