Jamshedpur, Mar 26: The Faculty of Commerce and Business Management at Jamshedpur Women’s University organized a one-day workshop on “Contemporary Digital Transformation in the Banking Sector”. The event aimed to educate students about the latest advancements in digital banking technologies and their impact.
The workshop was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Anjila Gupta, who highlighted the pros and cons of digital banking services. The event was coordinated by Dr. Deepa Sharan and Dr. Kamini Kumari, Heads of the Commerce Department.
Keynote speaker Surendra Sinha, Regional Digital Manager, Bank of Baroda, explained innovations such as cloud computing, blockchain, API banking and UPI. Dilip Kumar Gorai, Branch Manager, ICICI Bank (Bistupur Branch), compared traditional banking services with modern digital banking solutions and emphasized, “India’s digital banking services are now among the best globally.”
Additionally, Manas Patnaik (Regional Business Development Manager, Bank of Baroda) introduced the topic, while Sales Manager Abhishek Kumar discussed digital fraud prevention strategies.
The event featured an interactive session where students engaged with banking experts. Certificates were distributed to participants and university faculty members, including Dr. Chhaganlal Agarwal, Dr. Gloria Purti and Shweta Patel, actively contributed to the workshop.
