National conference on Biotechnology at BIT Mesra Ranchi from March 27

Ranchi, Mar 26: Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra is set to host a three-day national conference on “Biotechnology for Sustainable Development” from 27th to 29th March 2025. The event aims to bring together researchers, scientists and academicians to discuss advancements in plant and microbial biotechnology and its role in sustainable development.

The conference will focus on the latest research, socio-environmental impact and emerging challenges in biotechnology. It will also provide a platform for collaboration between academia, industry and policymakers.

Renowned experts will be part of the event, including Dr. Anurag Agarwal (Ashoka University, Sonepat) as the Chief Guest and Dr. Alok Krishna Sinha (NIPGR, New Delhi) as the keynote speaker. Prof. Indranil Manna, Vice Chancellor, BIT Mesra and Prof. Kunal Mukhopadhyay, Head, Department of Bioengineering and Biotechnology, will welcome the guests.

Prof. Manna emphasized the significance of the event, stating, “This conference will be a crucial platform for researchers and industry experts to collaborate and exchange ideas, driving Jharkhand towards new scientific and technological advancements.”

The conference is expected to foster innovation, industry collaboration and policy discussions to enhance biotechnology’s role in sustainable development.
