Jamshedpur Women’s University hosts Mushroom Cultivation Workshop

Jamshedpur: The Biotech Department of Jamshedpur Women’s University recently organized a one-day workshop on mushroom cultivation in the university’s auditorium. The event was graced by the presence of key figures, including Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Anjila Gupta, Registrar Rajendra Kumar Jaiswal, Dean of Science Dr. Javed Ahmed, C.V. C Dr. Annapurna Jha, Dr. Vishwaraj Lal of the Biotech Department, and DO Dr. Saloni Kujur.

The workshop, led by Sajeev Kumar Mathur, Director of Churchill Mushroom Food India, aimed to provide practical knowledge to the participants. During the inauguration of the “Ambrosia Club” of Biotech, Prof. (Dr.) Anjila Gupta emphasized the importance of practical knowledge alongside theoretical learning. She announced the upcoming establishment of a new tissue culture lab in the university.

Dr. Vishwaraj Lal highlighted the workshop’s objective, focusing on skill development among female students, stating that biotechnology is the future of India. The event, which attracted the active participation of 300 girl students, covered mushroom cultivation from the initial stages to harvesting. Dr. Vishwaraj Lal expressed the university’s commitment to organizing such programs to boost the morale of female students in the future.
