Jamshedpur woman’s cash and jewelry stolen in train

Jamshedpur, May 12: An unidentified thief stole the purse of an Adityapur-based woman passenger traveling in the Ahmedabad-Howrah Express at Champa railway station in Chhatisgarh late yesterday night.

The victim had reportedly kept cash and gold jewelry in her purse, police said.

According to sources, the incident took place when the train was about to depart from Champa station. Just then, a man took the victim’s bag and got off the train before the passengers could nab him, sources said.

This morning, the victim informed Tatanagar GRP officials about the incident and lodged a complaint on the information of R Kumar, a relative of the woman. The GRP officials said they would be sending the complaint to the Champa railway police station officials for further action.
