Jamshedpur, Feb 21: Unidentified criminals looted a purse from a woman near Old Ranikuder Dhobi Ghat under Kadma police station area on Sunday evening. The victim was injured in the incident, sources said.
Sources said the incident took place around 8 pm when the girl was on her way to Old Ranikuder from Bistupur. Two motorcycle-borne criminals intercepted the girl and tried to snatch her purse and mobile phone. They succeeded in snatching the purse, but failed to lay their hands on the mobile phone. In her attempt to save her belongings, the girl fell down on the road and got injured. Before she could raise an alarm, the criminals decamped with the purse.
A crowd gathered on the road to help the victim get up. They condemned the incident and blamed the city police for the deteriorating law and order situation in the city.
